Aloha! I’m Earl Trout. The goal here is to provide occasional entertaining and informative commentary about our world, but most importantly, to introduce my first novel, WILD BLUE: Saving the World with Duct Tape and WD-40. It’s a techno-thriller/romantic comedy and it’s received great reviews. One reader called it “Back to the Future meets Romancing the Stone.”

The WILD BLUE website is and my “official” bio is below. Mahalo nui loa (thank you very much) for visiting.

“Kindly beloved Uncle Earl LeRoy Trout the Third” has been working in mass media ever since he became a rock ‘n’ roll radio disk-jockey on his little home-town radio station at age 15. (He had to walk to the studios because he was too young to drive.) His laugh-out-loud writing in high school and college newspaper columns translated well into broadcasting and he quickly became a #1-rated, semi-big-time radio personality. After being on the air in Los Angeles for eight years he transitioned to off-air success as the General Manager of five major-market radio stations. A certifiable car freak beginning at age four, Trout was most recently Executive Director of the Kansas City Automotive Museum.

Earl has written and sold about three dozen television scripts, sold magazine articles (Motor Trend, Car and Driver, etc.) and has been a guest lecturer at more than a dozen universities and colleges. He loves to play golf, cards, and board games with his best friend, Dianne, who is a funny lady and who also happens to be his wife. They are both huge NASCAR fans.
